2008 CAPANA AAA Mentoring Session
Call for submission to CAPANA AAA mentoring session
Dear CAPANA member,
On behalf of the Chinese Accounting Professors’ Association of North America (CAPANA), I am happy to announce a NEW junior faculty mentoring session to be held in conjunction with the 2008 AAA meeting. We encourage eligible junior accounting faculty members (defined below) to submit a finished working paper other than the Ph.D. dissertation road paper or a research proposal to Bin Ke at bxk127@psu.edu no later than July 7, 2008. CAPANA will identify a relatively senior faculty member to hold a private meeting with you during the AAA meeting to help improve the quality of your submitted paper/research proposal.
Eligibility requirements
The eligible junior faculty member must satisfy the following conditions:
- Is a CAPANA member or is willing to become a CAPANA member by submitting a CAPANA membership application form (available at here).
- Is an accounting faculty member who has received his/her Ph.D. degree within the past three years (i.e., after August 1, 2005) from any university around the world.
- The submitted paper/proposal is not part of the 2008 AAA meeting program.
If you wish to submit a research proposal rather than a working paper, the proposal should not exceed five pages and should contain the following elements (to the extent possible):
a) What is the research question?
b) Why is it interesting?
c) What are your predictions?
d) How will you test your predictions (i.e., research design and sample selection)?
In your submission email to Bin Ke, please indicate the calendar year in which you received your Ph.D. degree.
Please feel free to circulate this announcement to anyone who is interested in joining CAPANA.
Thank you,
Bin Ke
President-elect, The Chinese Accounting Professors’ Association of North America (CAPANA)
